Our technology is based on the dissertation research of co-founder Jeff Terrell. While at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Terrell created a tool to passively measure performance of the servers in a large network, along with novel methods to analyze the raw performance data. His approach is now patent-pending, and Altometrics has an exclusive right to use the technology.

For the first half of 2011, Altometrics developed the core technology under a small business grant from the National Science Foundation. By the time the project ended in June, the software was able to do its analysis in real-time.  Our current R&D focus is to tailor our solution to the actual needs of infrastructure service providers. We are nearing completion of a demo, which we expect to refine into a product that meets the requirements of infrastructure service providers.
